Happy Saturday! Yesterday was the first day of snow in my town, and I am SO excited! I’ve been in the Christmas spirit for ages, but I feel like since it finally snowed, I am now allowed to be extra Christmas-y. And boy, have I. When I haven’t been working, going to class, or doing homework, I’ve been cuddled up on my couch watching Christmas movies. So, in celebration of this, I thought I’d make a list of some of my favorite Christmas things. This blog I wanted to focus on Christmas movies!
Movies
Elf: I’m sure that everyone has seen this classic, but I can’t leave it out! Zooey Deschanel is one of my favorite actresses and singers, and she’s just so dang cute in this movie! It’s such a cozy movie that makes you feel like a little kid again, which is one of the things that I like the best about Christmas. And Will Ferrell is way too funny in this movie, can’t forget about him! One of my family’s favorites.
A Christmas Story: Talk about a classic! This is probably my family’s favorite Christmas movie to quote, even during non-holiday time. It’s such a great movie! I think that this movie is so great because it is absolutely hilarious, but it is also very sweet and sentimental. Which, personally, I love.
Christmas Inheritance: This is a new favorite of mine. This was actually the first Christmas movie for me this season. Essentially, it’s about a rich woman whose family owns a toy company. Her father feels as though she’s become too accustomed to the rich, party-girl lifestyle, and wants her to step away from it. So, he sends her on a mission to the town where his business started. I don’t want to give too much away, but it is the CUTEST movie ever. It’s also such a cozy movie. If you haven’t seen it yet, I definitely recommend it!
A Charlie Brown Christmas: Okay, I maintain that this is THE classic Christmas movie. It helps teach children that Christmas is about more than just buying things. Which is something that’s pretty rare in Christmas movies. I especially like that they make this concept digestible to children. I remember being a little girl watching this movie, and loving it. I think it’s such a wholesome movie that that will never get old. If you haven’t seen it, I definitely recommend watching it. Perfect for the whole family!
How the Grinch Stole Christmas: Now, for this one, there are two versions. Soon, there will be three! Now, I think that both of the versions that exist already are wonderful, and I love them both. I think that my favorite one is probably the original cartoon, but I love them both. I think it’s great because it shows that all people just want to be included. Once the Grinch is included in all the festivities with those in Whoville, his whole demeanor changes. While both movies are of course very funny and silly, I think that they also give a good message to the audience.
Now, go! Go on and watch all the Christmas movies! Hope your week was wonderful! Happy Saturday!!
XOXO,
Mattie Mae
