Decluttering Day One: Tech

Hello, friends! And welcome to [a day late… oopsies] day one of me trying to declutter my entire house — technology! I actually did the declutter yesterday but was unable to find the time to write up this post. I did, however, create a graphic of what I managed to declutter and ideas of what could fall under the tech category.

If you prefer your information in blog form, here are the things to declutter that I mentioned in the graphic —

  • Old apple boxes [between the two of us, my husband and I had an obscene amount for absolutely no reason. Unless you’re planning on selling the device, there is absolutely no need to keep these!]
  • Cords for devices you no longer have/don’t work [I went ahead and tested every single cord that I found and there were quite a few that didn’t even work, they were just taking up space, so it is definitely worth it to test them out individually!]
  • Owner’s manuals [for some more complicated devices, they may be worth keeping, but in general, these are not necessary and take up a surprising amount of space!]
  • Old devices [It’s easy to hoard all of our old tech, but again, if it’s not getting used, it’s just collecting dust. Some you may even be able to sell, which is always a bonus!]
  • Batteries that no longer work [I don’t know how or why, but almost every drawer or cupboard I have somehow has old batteries taking up room. Get rid of them!]

And that’s day one, friends! Happy decluttering!

XOXO,

Mattie Mae
