Hello, my dear internet friends! Happy Monday to you all! Today feels like a fall day, and I am over the moon about it. It’s a little gloomy, a small chill in the air… I love it! I’m sitting on my balcony right now writing this post, just soaking it all in.
Today’s blog post is definitely different than our usual posts, but I love trying new things on this blog of mine. I fell down a bullet journaling rabbit hole on youtube, and it made me want to give it a go. It’s not my first time trying bullet journaling, here is one that I did a couple years ago…

Now, I don’t think the one I did in 2017 is too bad. HOWEVER, as someone who struggles heavily with perfectionism, I kind of gave up on bullet journaling… And I decided today to give it another go. And let me tell you, I struggled the entire time of wanting, DESPERATELY, to give up on it. I think that Pinterest and Youtube are great places for us to find inspiration, but gosh, I find it so difficult to not compare my creations to what I see online. And if I continue to be super honest with all of you, I spent about four hours straight working on this bullet journal entry. Just overthinking it completely. I think it’s important to put thought into whatever we create, but it’s not helpful to our creative process to completely overthink everything. Don’t let YOU get in the way of YOU.
All that being said, and all things considered, I’m pretty happy with how this entry ended up. It’s a fun way to be creative, and afterwards you have a homemade calendar, completely tailored to your own taste!
I’m not an expert on bullet journaling, but I felt like drawing, and I had the fall itch! I don’t think that we have to be experts in something to enjoy doing it, because more often than not, we’re not going to be great at something right away. Let yourself be confident in not only the creative process, but also YOURSELF.

If nothing else, I think my eye for photography has gotten better! And now my dear friends, I think I’m going to cuddle up with a cozy blanket, a cup of coffee, and peruse Netflix for a nice fall movie.
Thank you so much for reading!
XOXO,
Mattie Mae
I bullet Journal as well and blog about it! You definitely don’t have to be good at drawing to do it ( I am not)! I love fall as well! Good choice!
