Hello, friends! I’m really wanting to be more active on here. It’s a creative outlet that I really enjoy and with me not really using social media any longer, it makes me still feel social.
With all that being said, I tried my hand at making a Jello mold last night. As a child, I loved Jello so much. I don’t remember us ever making it with the packs, but I remember my mom buying me the pre-made Jello cups for my school lunch. Of course back then, Red-40 dye was not an issue that I knew about. I had been searching high and low looking for Jello mix that did not contain any food dye, to no avail. Finally, I found some at the local health food store. (I had searched for some at the health food store in my hometown, but they didn’t have any! I was shocked).
I’ve been going through all of my old cook books, finding all sorts of old recipes with jello and while some of them are a bit adventurous for my taste, I’ve been wanting to try a Jello salad for awhile now. I joked to my husband that making this made me feel like the ultimate stay-at-home-mom. Ha!

I don’t have any molds, so I ended up using glass pyrex storage. Not as pretty, but it set just as it needed to.

That’s that, friends! How are the pre-holidays treating you? Well, I hope!
XOXO,
Mattie Mae
