Hello, friends! Welcome back to my little corner of the internet. Today’s post is a simple one, but I wanted to highlight something positive in the world — free libraries. It’s so easy to focus on the negative, and I am certainly guilty of this, so I want to focus on something positive.
I live in a very small town, one that does not even have a dollar store, but we are blessed enough to have TWO free libraries. It’s such a wonderful way to offload books that you no longer need and to also be exposed to books that you might not have ever come in contact with otherwise. It’s also such a great way to be involved in your community. There’s something so special knowing that somebody in your town put this book in the free library and that someone will take the book that you deposited as well. I just love it! Community and connection is something that is severely lacking in so many people’s lives in 2025, and something like this is such a great stepping stone for building connections with those surrounding us.
I also discovered when writing this post that there is a website where you can find free libraries near you! How cool.
Happy reading!
XOXO,
Mattie Mae
